CORE Education was delighted to host Mr. Wong Siew Hoong Deputy Director-General of Education (Curriculum) for the Ministry of Education in Singapore at the International Conference on Thinking (ICOT) held in Wellington last month. CORE invited Mr Wong to ICOT after connecting with Mr Wong at the International Conference on Teaching and Learning in Technology (ICTLT) in early 2012.

Mr Wong, who attended with a small delegation from the Ministry says about the conference, The future will be very different. It will require thinking that is very different too. Thinking in the 21st century classroom is thus a vital aspect of quality teaching and learning, be it critical and/or creative thinking, or making students’ thinking visible. Coming to ICOT provides us with an opportunity to share with one another our experiences, practices and reflections on the role and enactment of quality thinking to support quality school experiences for our young. I am excited to be part of this important international discourse, and look forward to more discussions with all colleagues in education.”

CORE looks forward to continuing our relationship with the Ministry in the future.
