Distinguished Australian educator, Tony Ryan, in association with CORE Education, will be visiting Christchurch in May. Due to a special arrangement with CORE Education, Tony will be available for a general session, open to all, at no cost to you or your school.
Tony is well known to those who have attended CORE’s ULearn and Learning @ School conferences, and is a skilled workshop facilitator and presenter with students, teachers and community members. He has particular expertise in the areas of future-thinking and building resilience, and is working with CORE to offer his services to provide a general Building up resilience’ session on Wednesday 15 May, 4.00pm to 5.30pm.
We all have different degrees of resilience. Some of us can cope with (almost) anything, and easily move on. Others may struggle for longer. Whether it be adults or children, the resilience factor is critical in creating a worthwhile life.
This practical and entertaining session will offer you a series of strategies and plans for steadily developing resilience in both children and grown-ups. Many of these options can be directly applied to everyday teaching. No quick-fixes can be, or will be, offered.
Tony Ryan is an educational consultant and writer, and offers professional support to school organisations throughout the world on issues such as change leadership, lifelong learning and effective classroom practice. He has presented numerous keynotes and workshops at state, national and world conferences in the past 10 years.
