Prior to joining CORE Education, Michael completed his Honours Degree in English Literature and
worked as a Peer Writer, helping students get the best from their academic writing. Before that he worked for Dunedin’s only Māori Training Centre, tutoring Alternative Education students by day and teaching an introductory business course for Te Wānanga o Aotearoa by night.
Before studying English, Michael worked in the film industry both in New Zealand and London. During his seven years in the industry he worked on films, television programmes, music videos, and commercials.
Michael's knowledge and experience of both film and education gives him a unique blend of skills that makes him perfect for his role at CORE Education.
Michael is interested and experienced in:
- Filmmaking – both behind the camera and in front of the editing suit
- After Effects animations
I live in Wellington with my Fiancé. I love to read and would like to write more. I am determined to provide creative and engaging content. Effective communication is very important to me and understanding your audience is vital when taking part in a largely one-way conversation such as video production.
