Professional profile

Michelle is a trained primary school teacher, with a background in curriculum leadership design and implementation. She has a strong passion for and expertise in Social Studies, and has written the Primary teachers foreword for Social Studies/Tikanga-ā-Iwi BES; the English medium Te Takanga o Te Wā: Māori history in Aotearoa New Zealand Teaching Guidelines for Years 1-8; and was a member of the New Zealand Curriculum writers group for Aotearoa New Zealand Histories Curriculum.

Michelle is an experienced project manager, writer and developer of resources for diverse government departments and NGOs. Past work has included resource development and management for the Ministry of Education, the Commission for Financial Capability, ACC, Te Papa, and Civil Defence.
