Michelle has been a primary school teacher, curriculum leader and team leader, working at all levels. In the past she has also written education programmes for Auckland Museum, and taught social studies education to undergraduates at Auckland University.
Michelle wrote the primary teachers foreword for Social Studies/Tikanga-ā-Iwi BES and has worked on a variety of other resources including: Asia celebrations, Ka Hikitia Case Studies, and the Māori History Project.

I live in South Auckland with my husband, Siato, and my twin sons. I am passionate about whānau and community engagement in education, in involving students in decision making about their learning, and in allowing all children access to success through a localised and responsive curriculum.
