Skye is a qualified Public Health/Health Promotion practitioner and has worked in the Public Health sector in various roles since 2004 particularly working to reduce inequalities to ensure disparities don't widen in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Previous roles include National Advocacy, Regional Coordination and Policy work across both the NGO and Government Public sectors.
In 2014 Skye left the Public Health sector and took up a role in the world of politics as a Press Officer, loved the challenge and fast paced environment.
Skye started a role at Ministry of Education shortly after my political stint as Senior Advisor Māori, Sector Implementation and Practice within the Sector and Enablement Support team and not long after, was seconded as Senior Communications Advisor/ Account Manager in the Business Communications team. Skye finished her time at the Ministry as Lead Advisor- Achievement, Professional Capability and Leadership in the Te Reo Māori Group at the Ministry of Education.
