An opportunity is now available for an Intermediate Front End Developer to join our Open source Web Development Team. The preferred candidate will have 3+ Years of Experience in working with the LAMP Stack with a focus on Front End Development and Styling.  This role reports to the IT Manager.

Key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Under supervision of the IT Manager and Lead Developer, plan, develop, test, and maintain web based applications for internal and external projects
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of application server infrastructure


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge and industry experience in the use of (some but not all) php, MySQL, xhtml, css, ajax, jQuery, Bootstrap, Foundation, Less/Sass, HTML5
  • Industry experience with setup and maintenance of web application server infrastructure, primarily LAMP
  • Industry experience with Content Management Systems, Silverstripe
  • Industry knowledge of open source solutions is a key advantage
  • Three or more years of industry experience using the above technologies
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Systems or Computer Science
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in GIT and Vagrant are preferred
  • A passion for web application development, and a willingness to learn other platforms if required
  • Awareness and knowledge of web accessibility/usability issues
  • Proactive with clear ability to work on own initiative and as part of project teams
  • Commitment to high level of professionalism and ongoing personal development
  • A knowledge of web applications in an educational context, e.g. e-Learning platforms, an advantage but not essential
