Congratulations to the recipients for 2019

The CORE Māori Grants committee have the pleasure of awarding funding to support the following applicants:

Taniora Leys

Casebrook Intermediate

Financial support to provide more opportunities for tauira to explore their identity, understand the role of iwi and hapū as kaitiaki of the whenua.


Nathan Pollock

Financial support to teach tamariki how to use sustainable resources in arts and crafts such as harakeke, how to use our waste products through worming farming and to make a vegetable garden to show our tamariki the benefits of living and caring for the land.


Leanne Apiti

Kawhia Primary School

Financial support to aid and implement a sustainable workshop for tamariki using natural resources and creating a pā harakeke.

Financial assistance to implement and create a māra learning hub.

Te Kura Reo Rua o Waikirikiri

Financial support to provide a learning environment to maintain connections through local history, kaitiakitanga and the environment.

Financial support for assistance with filming local historical walks and capturing the local stories.
