Learn about the basics of innovative learning including the drivers for change and the frameworks that supports implementing change in your context. This 5 week online programme can be taken as a stand-alone course, or as the compulsory introduction to our other innovative learning programmes (see Related Courses).

Learning outcomes

By the end of this online programme, you will be able to:

  • Give key reasons for the need to focus on innovative learning in your context, based on important drivers for change in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Who is this for

Teachers or leaders looking to explore the basics of Innovative Learning and what it means to them and their context.

Course format

This 5 week online programme includes:

Week 1 - Locating yourself in our online learning environment, including a virtual hui

Week 2 - Self review

Week 3 - Why "getting the why right" is important

Week 4 - Drivers for change in Aotearoa

Week 5 - Kōrero session: a one hour virtual session for shared reflection and discussion about the why for innovative learning in each participant's context

Those registered for one of the 20 week Innovative Learning courses will complete this module before continuing the course in their chosen field for the remaining 15 weeks.
