The thinking that goes behind a future-focused approach to curriculum is a key part of developing a full approach to modern learning. This programme will take you on a journey exploring ideas about curriculum and how it translates into classroom practice, including the implications for designing learning experiences for learners.
Course participants will be able to:
- gain a deeper level of awareness and understanding of effective learner centred curriculum design which can be shared with colleagues
- be more capable educators in professional online communities as curriculum leaders who can develop networked learning within schools
- build their own learning networks by engaging with other curriculum leaders
- develop strategies to empower others to reframe school and/or syndicate/departmental curriculum
Who is this for
Leaders of curriculum in schools who are looking for ways to engage staff in designing and implementing curriculum practices that align with the NZC.
20 week course divided into four modules (5 weeks per module).
3-5 professional learning hours per week.

Educators registering for Modern Learning Practice can now receive credit for this course towards a post-graduate qualification with Unitec Institute of Technology. Upon completion, you will be provided a letter to submit to your tertiary provider, along with the assessment evidence from the course. You will receive 30 credits towards Course 8884: Organisation Theory, in one of Unitec's Educational Leadership and Management programmes.
