Homework in primary school: to be or not to be with Rochelle and Ānaru

Rochelle shares her experience as a parent, whose children are involved with a new type of home learning. This learning centres around giving to others, service to the school, academics and study, fitness and health — things needed in life.

One of her children busked outside the local supermarket to raise money to save the local pool and donated $100 as part of the ten challenges per year and most families are enjoying their children cooking them meals (another challenge). Students are also able to design a challenge of their own — an example of student agency in action.
