Looking Forward, Looking Back premiere, proudly presented by CORE Education

CORE Education is proud to present the premiere of Looking Forward, Looking Back, a collection of short video stories about the Christchurch Early Childhood Education (ECE) sector following the Canterbury earthquakes.

The six videos capture some of the experiences, memories and learning from the ECE sector in Christchurch following the Canterbury earthquakes.

CORE Education Early Years facilitator Keryn Davis, who has been organising the premiere in conjunction with Glenda Albon, is excited for the premiere to finally take place, after months of hard work. “We felt these were important stories to share. Not only because they capture a part of the sector’s history that we didn’t want forgotten, but we’ve also learnt a lot along the way,” said Ms. Davis. “Teachers were keen to share this learning with the early childhood education community around the country and around the world. It’s been a huge amount of work, but we’re very excited to be able to finally share these stories,” Ms. Albon added.

“We’re so grateful for all the help we’ve had especially from Maxim Print, the Christchurch Community Childcare Association and the local chapter of the World Organisation of Early Childhood Education (OMEP) who have supported us with the premiere. We couldn’t have held this event without them,” Ms. Davis said.

Looking Forward, Looking Back will premiere on Tuesday 11 December at the Geo Dome in North Hagley Park, from 8pm until 9.30pm. Attendees are asked to please be seated by 8.15pm. Friends of the sector are welcome to join, however it is requested that, given the content of the videos, children do not attend.
