Systems thinking tools and processes for innovative outcomes.
Solving the world's most complex and pressing issues is now only viable through technology and innovation, according to Matt Montgomery, Head of Innovation at the Auckland Council.
Generating the ideas and the consensus necessary to deliver effective solutions requires diversity and equality, the use of appropriate approaches, engagement with industry and the wider community, and leverage.
Matt will provide a run through of how an introduction to systems thinking and complexity theory can drive curiosity and interdisciplinary in diverse groups of participants. Through an interactive session Matt will show how to guide and structure systems thinking tools and processes to help develop and adopt a plurality of perspectives, identify novel solutions and deliver beneficial outcomes. The session will be furnished with examples from the use of systems tools in the delivery of sustainable development in major infrastructure programmes globally, and more recent examples of delivering innovation here in New Zealand.
Matt specialises in systems thinking and delivering beneficial change from within complex systems.
