Mātauranga and te reo Māori

arrow_downward

Our language and knowledge as Māori is key to the wellbeing and success of our tamariki and rangatahi in education. The leadership of whānau, hapū and iwi in the maintenance, and in some cases revitalisation, of te reo Māori and mātauranga Māori is essential so that our learners in Māori-medium settings thrive in environments where being proudly Māori, speaking Māori and viewing the world as Māori are normal.

Ask a CORE facilitator to work collaboratively with you as you identify practical ways to enhance the language and broader learning experiences of our tamariki and rangatahi. This could potentially include design thinking approaches, alignment of your vision and localised curriculum, co-design learning experiences to accelerate language learning, and building kaiako capability to implement responsive programmes for Māori medium settings.

If you would like a CORE facilitator to collaborate with you on this priority please contact one of our regional PLD managers.
