Professional Profile

Amira is a highly experienced kaiārahi (coach/mentor) and lead facilitator who specialises in leadership development, mentoring, and coaching across schools and clusters of schools. With a strengths-based approach, she supports leaders to navigate change, build effective teams, and foster relational trust. Her work is grounded in deep contextual understanding, enabling her to tailor support to the unique needs of each school. Amira empowers educators to co-construct role clarity, engage in courageous conversations, and build coaching cultures that drive sustainable, systemic improvement for all ākonga. She is a Public Service Commission approved coach for mid-level leaders, people leaders, and thought leaders, and works extensively with principals, leadership teams, and teacher networks.
With over twenty years of experience in secondary education, Amira holds a Master of Education (First Class Honours) in Educational Leadership, specialising in adult learning and mentoring. She is EOCC ICF certified coach, and has delivered PLD for over a decade with Tātai Aho Rau, CORE Education. Her expertise spans mentoring provisionally certified teachers, leading whole-school coaching initiatives, and facilitating professional growth cycles. Amira also brings national-level assessment expertise through her work with NZQA as an English moderator, materials developer, and external examiner, including involvement in the new Literacy Co-requisites. Her leadership is marked by a commitment to equity, excellence, and empowering others to lead with clarity and confidence.
