About the Role

An opportunity is now available for an Open Source Developer to join our Development Team. The preferred candidate will have 2+ Years of Experience using modern frameworks such as SilverStripe, Laravel, Vue.js and React.  This role reports to the IT Manager.

Some key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Under supervision of the IT Manager and Lead Developer, plan, develop, test, and maintain web based applications for internal and external projects

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of applications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge and industry experience in Laravel, Silverstripe, HTML, Javascript and CSS

  • Proficient in use of Git

  • Sound understanding of development methodologies and performance best-practices

  • A passion for web application development, and a willingness to learn other platforms if required

  • Awareness and knowledge of web accessibility/usability issues

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Systems or Computer Science

  • Proactive with clear ability to work on own initiative and as part of project teams

  • Commitment to high level of professionalism and ongoing personal development

  • A knowledge of web applications in an educational context, e.g. e-Learning platforms, an advantage but not essential

  • Good problem solving skills and attention to detail
