The research brings together the pūrākau, stories, of five rangatahi takatāpui whose voices are often marginalised or made invisible in multiple ways in learning settings. It contains provocations and a poutama resource that invites kaiako, teachers, to move their relationships with takatāpui from sympathetic to empathetic to transformative.

Report authors and partners
“In this work, we wished to honour the identities of rangatahi takatāpui and share their voice through an experience that would sustain their Māori, LGBTQIA+ and Gen Z worlds.” - Lex Davis (he/him) Te Rarawa, and Josh Hough (he/him).
Written by Lex Davis, Te Rarawa, and Josh Hough, the research report ensures that these narratives are authentic, created by the youth and accessible by the people who they have direct contact with and impact on their lives.
