Professional profile
Clive taught secondary physics and science for eight years in the United Kingdom, Middle East and in Aotearoa New Zealand. He then spent ten years working as an education technology consultant supporting principals, technicians and teachers with strategic planning and implementing digital technologies for learning. In 2013 Clive enjoyed a shift in focus from the technical side of digital learning to helping teachers to make the most effective use of the technologies themselves by facilitating professional learning.
Clive joined CORE in August 2015 and has enjoyed fulfilling a range of roles:
Connected Learning Advisor – providing consistent, unbiased advice and guidance to help schools integrate digital technologies for learning.
Facilitator – supporting schools with the introduction of the revised technology learning area, as a member of the Kia Takatū ā Matihiko Digital Readiness team, and writing for TKI's Enabling eLearning website.
Project manager – working with the content development team to create and maintain teaching and learning materials across a range of curriculum areas, learner levels, and media.
Expertise
Clive has expertise to support teachers and school leaders with many aspects related to learning with digital technologies including leadership and strategic direction; community engagement; teaching and learning; digital citizenship; technologies and infrastructure; and professional learning. Helping schools to make well informed decisions and action plans has led him to become a trusted advisor and critical friend to many.
Clive has been an accredited facilitator since 2017 and has played a part in developing the digital readiness programme, Kia Takatū. He is skilled in introducing and developing the use of digital technologies to teachers and how to use these effectively across the curriculum including implementing the Digital Technologies curriculum content.
Clive has a measured and thoughtful approach to managing projects alongside the content development team that is informed by his background as a teacher, relationship manager, and facilitator. He is skilled at working collaboratively with stakeholders, writers, technicians, and subject matter experts to deliver useful and incisive content that foregrounds effective teaching and learning.

I bring a range of interpersonal, professional and technical skills, experience and proven ability as an educator, relationship manager, facilitator, advisor, and project manager over the last 30 years. I have a positive, can-do attitude. My clients and colleagues appreciate my expertise, integrity and long-term approach as a trusted advisor, facilitator and manager.
I am reliable, organised, see the big picture, and always follow up and deliver. I am flexible and can handle complex technologies, concepts, environments and projects. I am personable, genuine and collaborative; able to take on projects and responsibilities with high quality outcomes. I have a commitment to honouring te Tiriti o Waitangi, growing my use of te reo Māori, and to appreciating te ao Māori and tikanga.
