About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, highly motivated and professional individual to join our Ngaiotanga | Professional Learning  team.

The Kaihuawaere Kaupapa Māori role will work primarily with kura reo Māori and wharekura to deliver professional learning support. They may also work with Kōhanga Reo, schools, early years services, leaders and will work with other teams at Tātai Aho on content development and research.

As Kaihuawaere, you will be responsive to kura, communities and clients’ strengths, needs and goals, and will use Tātai Aho Rau and Ministry of Education products, models and frameworks to support your work with them.

You will be hands-on, have the ability to travel often, be well-organised, dynamic and energetic with a high level of proficiency in written and oral communications in te reo Māori and English. You will be a life-long learner, with a commitment to ongoing professional and personal development including in mātauranga Māori. In particular, you will have networks and credibility within kaupapa Māori learning communities and experience and knowledge in pāngarau and aromatawai.
